THE CARSON VALLEY BASEBALL PROGRAM WAS ORGANIZED to PROVIDE THE YOUTH IN OUR AREA THE OPPORTUNITY to PLAY BASEBALL, and to ENSURE THAT EACH of THE PLAYERS WITHIN THE PROGRAM CONTINUE to MAINTAIN GOOD GRADES IN SCHOOL. WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR of THE ORGANIZATION BEING FORMED, CARSON VALLEY BASEBALL PROVIDED 78 PLAYERS IN THE CARSON VALLAY and SURROUNDING AREAS THE OPPORTUINITY to PLAY BASEBALL WITHIN A TRAVEL LEAGUE PROGRAM. SEVEN TEAMS WERE FORMED WITH AGE GROUPS RANGING FROM 11 YEARS OLD UP to 16 YEARS OLD. THE TEAMS PLAYED IN TOURNAMENTS IN THE RENO, NV AREA AS WELL AS IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE PROGRAM HELD BASEBALL CLINICS SO THAT THE PLAYERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY to WORK WITH PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYERS. THE PROGRAM HAD TWO PAID COACHES for TWO of THE OLDER DIVISION TEAMS, WHICH PROVED to BE A SUCCESS AS EACH TEAM WAS ABLE to APPLY THE SKILLS THAT WERE TAUGHT BY THE PAID COACH and BOTH TEAMS HAD A WINNING SEASON.
