What they do

THE TRANSFER of ASSETS FROM OUR PREDECESSOR ORGANIZATION, HABITAT for HUMANITY WILLAPA HARBOR, WAS COMPLETED DURING FISCAL YEAR END JUNE 30, 2019. THE ORGANIZATION THEN BEGAN THE PLANNING PROCESS, INCLUDING LAND SURVEYS and DESIGNS, for A NEW HOME to BE BUILT ON A DONATED PARCEL of LAND. HOWEVER, DUE to THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN PUT ON HOLD UNTIL WE CAN RESUME IT SAFELY. IN THE MEAN TIME, WE ARE MINIMIZING EXPENSES to PRESERVE FUNDS UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT WE CAN ONCE AGAIN FULFILL OUR MISSION.

This record may have an IRS status problem. Do not give until you verify it.

Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Ask these three easy questions

  1. Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
  2. What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
  3. Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.

Worth asking: Expenses exceeded revenue by $6,478 this year. Ask whether that was planned or caused by a one-time event.

Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
