What they do
TZL Chapter, Along With The TZL Scholarship Fund (The Fund), Presented 14 High School Graduating Seniors From The Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Surrounding Areas With A $1,500 Scholarship. Our Contribution to This Endeavor Was $9,070, and The Fund Covered The Balance. This Allowed for A Total of $21,000 to Be Awarded to Deserving High School Graduates In 2025. These Awards Were Given Out At Our 29th Annual Student Recognition Banquet In May of 2025. Since The Establishment of The Fund In The Mid-80s, We Have Helped to Give Out 232 Scholarships Worth $218,000. [Note: Because I Filed This Form 990-EZ Late for The 2024 Tax Year (August 2025 Was The Filing Period), I Unfortunately Included The Number of Scholarships and Their Total Cost for 2025 As Well. for 2024, The Number of Scholarships Given to That Point In Time Was 218, With A Net Worth of $197K. The Addition of The 14 Scholarships for 2025 Totaling $21K Brings The Total Number of Scholarships and Cost to What is Reported Above.]
Should I give to this charity?
Of every $100 spent, about $29.50 was reported for mission work. Use the spending picture below and ask what results that work produced.
Plain answer: A tax form cannot prove that a charity is doing good. It can show how the charity says it spent its money—and point out questions you should ask.

Money made simple
Ask these three easy questions
- Who did you help? Ask for a recent story or report that shows real results.
- What will my money do? Ask exactly what your gift will pay for.
- Is this really the charity? Give only through its official website or confirmed phone number.
Bottom line: Do not decide from a name, mission statement, or tax status alone. Look at where the money went, then ask what changed, who was helped, and what your gift will do. YouCanGiveBack does not endorse or grade organizations.
Financial picture
A plain-language look at the latest Form 990 figures available. These numbers help you ask better questions; they do not, by themselves, rate whether a charity is good or bad.
How each $100 of revenue was used
The large number compares each expense with revenue. The smaller number shows its share of total expenses.
Gray means reported revenue left after expenses for this filing year. It does not necessarily mean cash sitting in a bank account.
Has the pattern changed?
Colored bars = expense mix: how each year’s expenses were divided. Total expenses vs. revenue shows whether the charity spent less or more than it received. The current filing is first.
Money in and money out
Reported spending amounts
