PAST ACTIVITIES PRIMARILY INVOLVE GOVERNING DECISIONS FOR THE INDEPENDENT VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS AND BEING THE COMMON CARRIER OF INSURANCE ON THE PROPERTY, EQUIPMENT AND WORKERS COMPENSATION OF THE MEMBER VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS. TOTAL INSURANCE COSTS ARE APPORTIONED TO EACH VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT BASED ON THEIR SPECIFIC PROPERTY AND EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS AND PREMIUMS ARE SUBSEQUENTLY REIMBURSED BY THE INDEPENDENT VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS TO THE MITCHELL COUNTY FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, INC..
